Wamuchomba also rejected claims that her constituents were antagonistic toward the government during President Ruto’s recent visit to Mt. Kenya.

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, on Monday, April 7, 2025, recorded a statement with the DCI over incitement allegations during President William Ruto's tour of the Mt. Kenya region.

The MP revealed over the weekend that she had been summoned by the Kiambu County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO).

In a brief address to journalists outside the station, Wamuchomba raised serious concerns about her safety.

She accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of jeopardizing her life by withdrawing her security detail, a move she believes has put her at significant risk.

"The Kenya Kwanza government has no respect for women. If it respected women, the government should provide me with ten bodyguards. I previously had one bodyguard, but they took him away. I don’t have a bodyguard now as they took him away," Wamuchomba stated.

The outspoken legislator, a key ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, drew comparison between her own predicament and that of the former DP, condemning the government's treatment of political figures.

"Just as they took away Gachagua’s bodyguards, that’s exactly how they took away my bodyguard. They oppress me and then start claiming we’re fighting politically. My life is in danger, and the lives of people who work with me," she remarked.

Wamuchomba also rejected claims that her constituents were antagonistic toward the government during President Ruto’s recent visit to Mt. Kenya.

She questioned why she was being singled out, stating, "The President came to Githunguri, and no one mocked him, no one shouted at him. Why are they oppressing us? Why are they attacking us?"

Her visit to the Kiambu Police Station today follows a public statement she made on her X account on April 5, 2025, where she connected the reports of her summons to growing discontent among her constituents in Githunguri regarding the unfulfilled promises made by the government.
